I'm running Backup Exec 10d (10.1 Rev 5629), along with the Exchange Remote Agent, on SBS 2003 and have a recurring problem with our incremental backup jobs.
For some reason, both the "Exchange server backup method" and "mailbox backup method" (on the Microsoft Exchange settings page) revert away from "Incremental". I notice this when my daily backup occupies 40+ GB (instead of the usual ~10GB).
I can then go in to the job settings and change them back to "Incremental" - and things work fine for "awhile". It
seems to go bad when I have to cancel a job, or it fails in some other way - but this is just a guess.
The really weird part is that when it goes bad, the "Exchange server backup method" setting will show as blank, while the "mailbox backup method" setting will show as "Copy".
Has anyone else seen anything like this? I'm baffled.
