Exchange Copy to Tape: 1032 The file cannot be accessed because the file is locked or in use

We use BackupExec 2012 Version 14.0.1798 (64bit) on Windows Server 2008R2.

Problem: Exchange-Backup (GRT): B2D always works fine. Copy to Tape is planned some hours after. Job writes data without error but verificacion ends with: "1032 The file cannot be accessed because the file is locked or in use". On the tape we find all data (about 400 GB).

Questions: What file cannot be accessed?

Hi,

do the OnHostTemp change in the Registry shown from this document http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH128187 (should still be applicable even though this references Backup Exec 2010).

Make sure that the disk on which the temp directory resides have sufficient space to load the entire information store.

I already set the key "OnHostTemp" without any effect.

"Sufficent" - that means that on the Exchange-Server we must have space for all storage groups together? This would be impossible.

But for copy the backup from disk (whitch is connected directly to BackupExec server) to tape - WHY BackupExec wants to connect to Exchange-Server?

exclude the Backup Exec temp directory C:\Temp\Backup Exec on the Exchange server from Anti-Virus active scan.

make sure that the Exchange Management tools are installed on the Media server and are updated to the same level as what is installed on the Exchange server

also try recreating your job.

if this is still failing please run SGMon and post back the results.   http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO11932
