Exchange backup issues

We have an active-passive cluster server running Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003. One node has been upgraded to Windows 2003 Service Pack 1, and since this was done, Backup Exec is unable to connect to the Exchange cluster resources. An existing job fails with error e000848c; the resources are not visible so cannot be selected to create a new job. These problems only occur when the node with Service Pack 1 is active (we have not run the Security Configuration Wizard, which seems to be a common cause of SP1 problems).

Hello,

Are you backing up the clustered drive from the virtual server rather than backing up from individual nodes.

Please refer the below stated Technote-:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/246640
How to properly protect a Microsoft Cluster Server through Backup Exec 8.x , 9.x, and 10.0. for Windows Servers

NOTE : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked assumed answeredand would be moved toanswered questions pool.

Yes, we're backing the cluster up in the manner described in the Technote. When the node with Windows 2003 SP1 is active, the resources are not listed under the virtual server.
