Exchange backups never complete

Hello all, noob to the forums. Please be gentle :)

We're currently running 10.1 SP3 (rev 5629) on a Windows 2003 Server (SP2) machine (2.4 ghz Xeon, 1 gb ram).

Recently, we've moved  a mail server into the office. Backup exec stores all of our file server stuff just fine, but when it hits Exchange information stores, the job freezes (The time continues to increment, but byte count stays the same.16 hours later it is still sitting there doing nothing, thinking it's going to get something from the Exchange box). So far this only occurs with our daily incrementals, we'll have another full this Friday so I'll double check then -- I assume it will have the same problems.

My research indicates there may be an issue with GRT (granular restore technology), but as I understand this is only availbale in 11d, which we aren't using.

We were advised to upgrade by a tech support agent from 10d to 10d SP3 to fix various memory leak issues. This is done, but we still can't get Exchange IS to back up correctly.

Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks!
