Expired Java Certificate

I have just been told by a Microsoft technician that the problem with my Veritas backup software (and general system problems) is due to an expired Java certificate. Apparently it expired on 27/07/05.

I am completely new to this. I just need a backup which works. My questions are:

1) do I have to download anything from Veritas to fix this problem with version 9.0?
2) it so happens that I have ordered a version 10 which will arrive in a week's time. Will this automatically fix my problem?

Being without a backup, I am in desperate need of help.

Can you please mention the exact error message ?
When does this error occurs ?
Have you made any changes to your system or Backup Exec software ?
