Export and Import historical of backup jobs

Hello,

I will install the 2010 version of BackpExec, replacing the current 12.0. However, I need to keep historical of jobs performed.

It is possible export this for later import it into the new software.

Initially my strategy would be:
- Export the History Jobs
- Uninstall your current version (12.0) of backup exec
- Install the new version (2010) of backup exec
- Import historical for new software
- Reconfigure backup exec 2010.

The 2010 release will be installed on the same machine.

This is possible?

I think this technote should walk you through migrating backup exec.    Just inbetween steps 3 and 4 is where you would uninstall BE12.0 and install BE2010.

Or if you have a support contract you can call in and have a technician walk you through the process.

Hi Rocha,

The most important thing is to grab a copy of your Data and Catalogs folders. Catalogs folder holds all the catalogs of your tapes...you lose this, and you have to recatalog all your tapes which is time-consuming.
The Data folder contains your BE database.
Do this before upgrading your version of BE. The upgrade itself, should it be successful, will pull all your data and jobs etc through...no need to recreate it!

Laters!

Thanks to all.

I'll test the procedure under Article 318321 and I report to you.

Hey folks, the procedure worked perfectly. All settings and history of jobs were imported to the new server.

Thanks again for guidance.
