Failing Backups because of Outlook.pst File

Hi there I am having lots of problems backing up my server at the moment. It is trying to open outlook.pst files to backup and then reports them as corrupt because they are open and in use on several computers at the time. We backup late at night 23:00 so its usually only caused when people leave there email open?

Can you suggest how we might set veritas to skip the files if it finds them as corrupt rather than failing the whole backup?

Thanks in advance

Few ways to workaround this issue..

1. Set the backup job to not backup open files.
2. Use Advanced Open File Option.
3. Change the registry key to not mark the backup as corrupt - http://support.veritas.com/docs/193940

Hi

It is a pain this one, i have had it a few times with PST files and other corrupt files too.

Only thing i can suggest is for you to re-create the PST files if you can, not sure how easy this is though. We used to deal with PST files a lot but then we got Exchange and that got rid of them, i would strongly recomend Exchange by the way if you dont have it (i am not a salesman!)
