I recently enabled auditing for Traverse Folder / Execute File, Create Files / Write Data, and Delete Subfolders and Files on a shared drive being backed up. Since then all of the nightly differential backups are much larger than normal. In fact, it looks like the differential backup is just as large as the full backup, which is done once a month. Does file/folder auditing cause the archive bit on all files to be reset? Is there something I can do in Backup Exec to correct this? Thanks in advance.

It could be. You got to check with Microsoft on this.
Also, check whether this apply to you

You can try using the Modified Time method to do your backups.
