I have BU Exec 12.5 on a Windows 2003 server. Any attempt to backup the files on the media server fails. Backup Exec can backup the System State and Info Store. All File backups fail with the error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred. The Remote Agent on the server stops and will restart it about five minutes later. The Windows Backup Utility can backup all files on C and D. I am only trying to backup one server. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Backup Exec for this issue. After the reinstall, it worked twice and then reverted back to the same behavior. I have checked and verified that no updates were run. there is no other application on port 1000. The remote agent is set to use Local Service for log on. Has anyone encounted this issue? any help would be appreciated.
