File copy for new server

I'm upgrading a client's server this week and was wondering if I could use the back up media from the old server to the new as a way of copying files? Both are running the same version of VBE 10.0 and using the same media. If so, would using an Iomega REV drive throw a curve into the situation? Thanks

I've never used a REV drive, but have used BackupExec in a similar circumstance to transfer user data to a new server via DLT tape.

After your new hardware is setup and configured,. Install BackupExec, inventory your media, catalog it (this may take a while) and then restore/redirect
