I am having the same problem. It started happening after applying some recent Windows updates and installing WSUS services on the server. My server is Server 2003 Enterprise. None of the Volume Shadow components are backing up on that server, but they are on my other server. I show no errors when I run the VSSADMIN command. I also referenced the Microsoft Q article 826936 as referenced in Veritas Doc 261993 and find none of the errors listed there in my server event logs. Can someone help us?

Hi,

What all data are you backin up?

Is there any database like exchange or oracle?

Are you using AOFO?

Did you try to backup without shadow copy?

Refer to the following document:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/264350

Thanks

I back up both Exchange and SQL. Exchange is on my BUE Media Server, which is the server that is failing to backup any of the Shadow components. SQL is on a remote server. Everything on the remote server backs up fine. I am not using AOFO. Everything backs up successfully except system state or any of the other Shadow Copy components on the Media Server. I tried everthing in the article you referenced.
