Frequent Queued Jobs

Hi,

I'm running BE9.1 on Server 2003. My daily backup jobs have been queueing often. Under Alert is says:
"Please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import command."

The Event ID is 58064.

I don't think there is a problem with the tape because it worked the weeks before. The last time I had a queue was two weeks ago and it was on a Wednesday. The one before that was a week before that and it was on a Tuesday. I just canceled the jobs before thinking that it was going to be a rare thing. Now it seems like it is happening more than normal.

Any help will greatly be appeciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Please refer: http://support.veritas.com/docs/252436

Try moving media to scratch media and rerun the job.

Additionally go through these technotes:

Hi,

What do you mean by moving media to scratch media?

This issue is strange because I know that the media is overwritable because I was able to use it last week.

I also checked the links that you suggested but unfortunately they were not helpful.

Any further help will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

Please erase a media and then try targeting the job to this media and verify the result.

Thanks,

I've tried importing a brand new tape into the robotic library and it still gives me the same alert message:
"Please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import command.

Overwritable media includes scratch, blank, and recyclable media. Please note that depending on the current Media Overwrite Protection setting, imported and allocated media may be overwritable as well. Consult the online help for more information on overwritable media."

It seems like the only way to get rid of it is to cancel the queued job but doing that doesn't solve the problem.

Further help will greatly be appreciated.

Hi,

I tried moving a defined media set to the scratch media but it won't let me. I tried dragging and dropping and checked to see if there was a move option, none were available or worked.

I also went to the link and the information there didn't help me. The link was for an earlier version of BE and their solution did not help me.

Earlier this week the daily backup was fine. But last nights queued again. With the same alert message.

The randomness of the queues make it difficult to pinpoint the problem.

Further help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I went to the link and followed the directions on there. The links didn't really help because we already have our settings set to how they suggested in the articles.

We've been getting alot more jobs queued this week than usual. It use to be once a week but now its been three days in a row.

Further help will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
