Hi
I need to globally exclude the .snapshot folder created on netapp LUN on every server I backup
The problem is that the folder is created as a sub-dir of different folder on each server, since I have different LUNs
Basically what I need to accomplish is something like this:
\\anyserver\anyfolder\.snapshot\*.* /SUBDIR
Is it possible to accomplish this? What is the exact syntax for it?
Thanks
Omer.

Try the following \\*\**\.snapshot\*.* /SUBDIR /EXCLUDE

See the below Tech Note
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH29548
Look at the syntax given at path tab in the Tech note..
This will help you in creating the global exclusions..

I am slightly puzzled although it might be something to do with the LUN,
Are you saying that the LUN contains snapshot folders that you are backing up via a remote agent inside the Windows server that uses the LUN, are you using the NDMP Option, or are you using CIFs shares to access the NetApp volumes for backups.
Reason for question is that if using the NDMP otion then we don't backup the Snapshot directory on an NDMP backup - we make a new snapshot inside it and backup only that new snapshot - and the netapp snapshot process knows to not include the snapshot folder. - As such if you are doing an NDMP Backup you should not need this exclude.
