the senario is, the client has two drives(C and D) in the system. They are interested to take full backup at daily basis of D drive rather than incremental or differential and full backup at weekly and monthly basis. they are following GRANDFATHEr,FATHER, SON strategy for media rotation. In that senario we cannot apply one selection list to the policy's templetes. we have different selection list for the daily backup and different selection list to the weekly and monthly. In policy we can apply only one selection list in that senario.. So kindly guide me how to tackle this senario. so that we can use full backup of one drive rather than incremental or defferential backup.
Thank you for submitting this support query. It appears that you want to run full backups of D: drive on daily basis and Full backup of other resources on weekly and monthly basis.
You have also mentioned that these backups use 2 independent selection list for backups. In such a scenario, you will have to run 2 jobs separately. Policy in Backup Exec 10.0 cannot be used to perform backups of 2 separate selection lists. Policy allows you to select more than one selection lists but they are merged to form one selection list.
We suggest you to run these backup jobs as separate jobs without using a single policy.
