This is probably a FAQ, but I've searched the forums and web site and only found questions - no answers.
System: BE 10d, running on W2K3 Server in domain with W2K Domain Controller.
I'm trying to push install of Remote Agent on XP machines using Group Policies, but only get's entries in the Event log that the installation was cancelled by user.
When trying to install the Agent using msiexec and the package directly:
msiexec /quiet /i “VERITAS Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers.msi” /t 1033.mst
... I get the message in C:\WINDOWS\bkinstall.log:
“Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers cannot be installed in this fashion. Please run setup.exe.”
Is this true – is it impossible to install the Remote Agent using msiexec (and then Group Policies)??
