Hardware compression no longer work since Service Pack 2 installation

Hi all,

Since last weekend, the hardware compression didn't give me the same compression as usual. With my old setup, I could located 420Go one cartridge with a compression of 3.75:1. Last weekend, I installed Service Pack 2 on our Windows 2003 Server and updated firmware and drivers of RAID card. Since these change, same backup ask a new cartridge after 210Go and the compression is only 1.07:1 for same data.

Someone have any idea about this behavior?

Best regards,

Steve

You don;t have your tape drive connected to the RAID card, do you? Veritas/Symantec have always said that this is a no-no.  Tape devices should always be on a dedicated SCSI controller, or on a dedicated channel of a non-RAID controller

Have you tried re-loading the latest Symantec tape drivers?
