Have Backup Exec 9.1 and need to add a remote agent for Storage Srvr 2003

Hopefully someone can help...

Ok, I have long had a Windows 2000 Server running Backup Exec 9.1 and everything is great. Now, I've purchased an NAS that runs Windows Storage Server 2003.

I would like to extend my backup capabilities to the NAS using a fairly inexpensive route. Would it be as simple as purchasing the remote agent? If so, when doing this do I have to upgrade to v10?

Would it be better to uninstall Backup Exec 9.1 and install it on my NAS and use the remote agent on my Windows 2000 Server?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Sam

Hi,

If the NAS system is not emulating a Windows operating system, then a Remote Agent will be needed.

Please refer to the following document:

Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliance compatibility with Backup Exec 8.x , 9.x, and 10.x.
