i need a solution for this scenario.
i have machine of win NT server, SQL server and a file server in a same machine.please tell me the solution how to backup my servers.and which backupexec varsion and remote agent you suggest.and i want to take backup on CDR and want to take backup on incremental basis.thankyou.

v9.1 is the last version that supports NT4. And Veritas/Symantec no longer sell tht version. Your only option if you really want BackupExec is to check EBay or the other Auction Sites

That being said, for one machine, that will be the media server that is also a SQL server, you would need one base license and one SQL agent.

Hi,

NT 4.0 is not supported by Backup Exec 10.x.

For backing up the SQL database , you will need a SQL agent - a licence key to perform online backups.


Backup Exec 10.1 is the latest version for Backup Exec.
