Have Backup Exec 9.1 and need to add a remote agent??

Hopefully someone can help...

Ok, I have long had a Windows 2000 Server running Backup Exec 9.1 and everything is great. Now, I've purchased an NAS that runs Windows Storage Server 2003.

I would like to extend my backup capabilities to the NAS using a fairly inexpensive route. Would it be as simple as purchasing the remote agent? If so, when doing this do I have to upgrade to v10?

Would it be better to uninstall Backup Exec 9.1 and install it on my NAS and use the remote agent on my Windows 2000 Server?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Sam

If your NAS will allow you to install software on it, that would probably be a good place to put your media server.

Veritas no longer sells v9 serials, so your only option to get one now is probably EBay or one of the other Auction sites. if you have a favorite reseller, ask them. They may still have a few laying around.
