Hi,

I have a nas qnap connected by windows share. The disk looks full and backup exec does not want backup because it has not free disk space.

1) how can I free space ?

2) how can I tell to backup exec it does overwrite the old backup ?

Backup Exec 15 and 2014 both feature updates for DLM that might help with this type of issue - as such I'd recommend updating your Backup Exec version. (Preferably to BE 15)

On the Storage tab, you can right-click on the backup sets that you want to delete and select Delete to delete them. This will also delete them from the disk storage. Do not delete the backup sets from the disk storage directly. You will end up with orphan entries in the BE console

Please Refer http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO74449 . It is not recommended to delete the backup sets from the Drive.
