We are in the process of building out our VM environment via VMware vSphere 4.1. We currently have one VM that is our domain controller. I would like to start backing this up to tape via BackupExec until we finish building out the VEEAM backup server so we can do a D2D2T. Since I am replacing the old domain controller with the new VM domain controller can I just use the normal server remote agent to backup the VM or do I need a VM agent to backup that server?
If you the AVVI license, install the AVVI license, install the RAWS on the VM ( for GRT restore) & back it up through AVVI agent for an off-host backup
Else, you can install & backup the VM as a physical machine using the RAWS
