How to cancel a job after a certain amount of time

I have a customer with backup exec 8.60 sometimes the staff forget to put the tape in, in the morning they put the tape in and the backup starts, this is a problem as the backup then runs throug the day stuffing a lot of things up.
I need to be able to cancel the job if not finished within 8 hours. I know how to do this with 9 and 9.1 but I cant find where it is in 8.6, thanks for any help
