How to for replacing a tape Library?

Chuck_Stuettgen
Not applicable
I presently have a Dell 132T Tape Library with a Single LTO2 tape drive connected to a Windows 2000 SP4 server. I need to replace it with a new Dell 132T with a single LTO3 drive. (The old library is being sent to another office) What is the best way to replace the library without losing the backup Jobs, Schedules, Partitioning information, etc.?

I can't find any Knowledge base articles or document that explains the proper way replace an existing tape library with a new one,

Grab the latest Driver pack for v9.1 at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273853.htm

From the Devices Tab, remove both the Library and the drive

Shut down and swap hardware

Restart

Run TAPEINST to add the new library and drive

Recreate partitions (if you use partitions)

Change/Edit jobs to point to the new drive if you pointed them at the drive rather than a PoolMessage was edited by:
