How to recover Active Directory from tape

We had to repair our Windows 2003 server for small business and everything seems ok except the AD doesn'd start. Trying to restore it from backup and can't find it.I understand the document id 243037 addresses this issue, but can't find it or how to search for it.

Hi Wes,

The Active Directory is a part of the System State, found under the Shadow Copy Components selection of your backups.

You will need to boot in directory restore mode before restoring this.

If you have done so and still have issues, let us know exactly what you mean by "doesn't start".
