Currently we have 3 physical servers (VM-1, VM-2, VM-3) and on each physical server resides 3 Hyper-V (VM-1), 4 Hyper-V (VM-2) and 3 Hyper-V (VM-3). The backup exec is installed on another physical server which is joined to a domain where all the Hyper-V virtual machines are connected into.
Note: The 3 phyiscal servers where the Hyper-V's are installed is NOT joined to the domain rather they belong the the workgroup.
Now, the question is how can I backup this Hyper-V machines from the Backup-Exec residing in a domain.
TIA.

you have to add dns suffix of your domain on the workgroup computers, turn off firewall, and turn off UAC. When you add workgroup computer to the be2012 console try it using ip address, not host name.

Make sure that you add the BE logon account as a local administrator in the VM host. Otherwise, BE will not be able to backup the host.

Create Logon accounts in Backup exec for all three Hyper-V servers in the workgroup in the form <HyperV-Servername>\Administrator and give this logon account the same password as the actual Administrator accounts of your Hyper-V servers.
While taking backup just make sure that you select the proper logon account while connecting to the HyperV server.
