IDR Restoration

There is an unusual situation happen with IDR in which many files were modified on Tuesday and at the end of the day, the server had to be rebuilt using the IDR CD and the backup tape from Monday night.

When using an IDR, the restoration process will recreate the partitions and format the drives before restoring the data, so the changes made on Tuesday shouldn't be there after the restoration. However, after completing the IDR restoration, there was some data that had Tuesday's changes.

Neither Offline Files or roaming profiles could have put Tuesday's changes back...Does anyone have any ideas on how to Tuesday's changes were available after the IDR restoration?

The Monday backups ran between 11PM Monday and 1AM Tuesday. The changes to the files on Tuesday were made between 8AM and 4:30PM.

The Monday tapes used to restore the server were used at 5PM so the file attributes should be from the backup that ran between 11PM and 1AM. However, some of Tuesday's file modifications from 8AM to 4:30PM are present and some are not.

A full backup was made Monday night.

-What is the procedure followed for IDR.
-Did the entire sever crash and were all partitions on the server rebuilt during idr?
- Did you do a manula recovery or idr.
- Please check the date when the files were last modified.

The server (the OS is Windows Server 2003 Standard) blue screened and I had to use the IDR CD for that server. All partitions were rebuilt, including the D: partition with the files that were time stamped after the restoration even though there were no user modifications yet after the restore.
