IDR image creation

We have VBE9.1 (SBS edition, i.e. with IDR option) installed on a Windows 2003 Small Business Server Standart Edition. However, we seem unable to create the bootable IDR CD image ("Image creation from this cd is not supported").

The Windows language and regional settings are German, VBE is German. The Windows installation medium identifies itself as NRMLOEM_DE1. The Windows system was pre-installed by the manufacturer (Maxdata).

Most obvious things first - Does the Server have a writeable CD Drive?

Yes, it has a writeable CD Drive. I think the System was preinstalled with an image and not with the Windows 2003 SBS CDs delivered with the server. Can that cause this problem?
