IDR need SQL Agent??

Hi world,

I was reading about IDR option and I realized that one requirement to restore the media server where you have IDR installed is backing up the Backup Exec SQL instance. My question is, Is it necesary to have the SQL Agent in the media server in order to restore it successfully?

Also, my backup device is an Fibre Channel Tape Library (STK SL500), Do I need to install the PCI driver in the recovery process (when the IDR wizard ask you for SCSI drivers)

Hello,

It appears that you have installed Backup Exec on a SQL instance,in that case you would require a SQL agent license to back up the SQL databases .
Yes you need to install the PCI driver in the recovery process.
