Incompatible storage media detected in robotic library

Hello,

I don't know what changed recently but both of my Certance LTO Ultrium 2 tape drives do not want to work with my Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 (build 4691) I have updated the tape firmware, ran BE 9.1 SP4a update again, re-installed Veritas tape device drivers etc. Nothing I have tried works.

I thought maybe my new FujiFilm LTO Ultrium 2 tapes were the cause but I put some previously used tapes and I can't read/inventory them either.

I keep getting incompatible storage media detected in robotic library. Here are the errors depending on tape functions:

a000821e - Library error - incompatible storage media detected in robotic library.
a000810d - Physical Volume Library Media not found.

I ran the diagnostics utility from Certance/Quantum, everything looks good.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Do you use pre-defined Barcodes?

I haven't used predefined Bar codes, my current practice has been to put the tape(s) into the media slot and label them manually.

i have no ideal why it (errors) keeps saying robotic library 'cause it's nothing more than 2 stand alones Certance drives in a 2u rackmount unit.

That could be your problem Kim.
They should show up as stand alone drives - not within a Library AFAIK.

How do they appear under Devices within BE? Has it changed in the last while?
