Incorrect LTO3 Size reported (SOLVED)

Just a quicky to let you know.

I was having problems with my LTO3 Tapes showing only 35.5Gb in Total Capacity.Which is odd when native they are 400GB

I found the only way to repair this is to use the "Test Cartridge & Media" function built into my Dell LTO3 External Tape drive.

I will see what happens after a backup completes to this tape tonight. Only downside is that the media record for this tape is now fresh , which means i loose the hours in use and other figures.

I dont know why this happens and neither do symantec, but this maybe a workable solution until they do.

Anyone else had similar problems and resolved it , please add to this thread.

Back when v10.0 was introduced , LTO2 users were having the same problem, and the only solution that I recall was to "initialize" (label ?) the tape with the manufacturer's utility, then let BackupExec inventory it.

After that  everything was copacetic

Sorry I missed your earlier post Smiley Sad
