Insert Overwritable Media - Tape isn't even full.

I have a problem with a tape backup job.  I am using an LTO-2 drive.  My tape has a reported storage of 194GB.  BackupExec is stopping at 156GB and asking for another tape.  I put in the other tape and BackupExec finished at 186GB.  I am overwriting all media.  I do not do incremental backups.

Does anyone know why BackupExec is doing this?  I was using BackupExec 11D, then upgraded all my licenses to BackupExec 12, but the problem followed.  Has anyone see this problem before?

I seem ot recall this (or someth9ing similar) back when v11d came out

As I recall,  the workaround was to use the manufacturer's utility to initialize the cartidges, then inventory and use them in BackupExec
