Install new media agent

Hello,

Backup exec 8.6, WIN2000 SRV
A backup server is already installed , now I've a second remote server with attache a Dell library and I would like to use it.
shall I install Backup Exec also on the remote server or is there another way to do.

Do you have a serial for the Remote Agent?

If so, install the serial on the media server and the agent on the new server and you should be good to go. IF you don'tg already have one, you can generally find one or two one EBay

The new server is the new media server.
You mean I need a remote agent and a media agent, correct ?
That means that I can start the BE setup on the present media server and load both agents on the remote server.

You want to move your media server to the new server?

You will need a remote Agent serial to backup a server other than the media server, if you will be re-deploying the old media server rather than decommissioning it.

No is my faute....., sorry for that

"The new server is A new mediaserver", that means at end I have two media servers with each an attached library.
My question is wether or not I must do a full install of BE on the second SRV.
