Hi,
I have been searching through the internet world and seems answer is not given. Just would like to check whether can i install Symantec Backup Exec 2010 onto a Exchange 2010 server?
Reason for doing so is i do not have a 64bit servers running in my environment and do not intend to purchase additional server.

You can install BE Media server on Exchange Server. But you have to consider the resources available in the server. Generally it is always recommended to have a standalone backup server.
Note: Exchange 2010 requires a Windows 2008 SP2 or Windows 2008 R2 x64 media server with the Exchange 2010 Management tools installed on the media server.
For using Windows 2008 R2 as Media Server you require BE 2010 R2.
Windows 2010 SP1 can be used as media server with BE 2010

Depends on your OS.
If your OS is 2008 R2 then BE 2010R2 required. Otherwise BE 2010.
In my earlier post mistyped Windows 2008 Sp1 as Windows 2010 SP1. Sorry for the confusion.
Regards.

It does not matter whether you are using Windows Server 2008 or Windows 2008 R2 as the OS of your Exchange server, you can load either BE 2010 or BE 2010 R2 onto it. However, if you are using Exchange 2010 SP1, then you would need BE 2010 R2.
