Installing remote agent on windows XP workstation

BFSB
Not applicable
I have a couple of hard drives that I would like to combine into a RAID for B2D.  I am thinking about using a workstation with a RAID card to make this happen, rather than purchasing a new server, or a device like HP's MSA20.  If I understand the remote agent correctly, it will be necessary to install it on the workstation where the array is, in order to be able to back things up to it.  My question is, is the remote agent for Windows Servers compatible with Windows XP pro?  Alternatively, are there other ways to pull this off and put these drives to use?  Thanks!

No, to use disks on a remote machine as B2D targets, you do NOT need to install the remote agent on that machine.  You only need the RA if you are going to backup data from that machine

But, yes the v10.x RAWS is compatible with  XP.  You can even install it,  without a serial on the media server,  on Desktop OS machines to get complete DR type backups
