Inventory a cleaning tape?

Our cleaning jobs have started to fail because the tape had expired, so I've put a new tape in the dedictaed cleaning slot of out library, but, I can't get BE to realise i've put a new cleaning tape in - the inventory option is greyed out.  My solutuon for the moment has been to increase the max number of cleans a tape can be used for but I would rather know how many cleans a tape has performed.

How do I get BE to recognise that the cleaning tape is new?

Our version of BE is 2010 Rev 2896 x64.

Cheers

Adam.

Hello,

Go to the Devices tab and disable and delete all the drives and the slots of the library, restart BE services which will force BE to recognize the library.

Right Clik on the slot in which the cleaning tape is present and go to properties and select the clening slot.

Hope this helps....

Alternatively, with the cleaning tape in the dedicated cleaning slot, inventory the whole tape library rather than just the cleaning slot.
