Is Exchange Server Agent installed?

These are very simple questions, I'm sure:  How can I tell if we have the Exchange Server Agent installed on our Microsoft Exchange server?  Because this Agent is not required for backing up the Exchange Server, correct?  It can be done with just the Remote Agent, can't it?

On the media server, Tools\Options and Serials should show if the Exchange serial is installed .  You can also check the BESERNUM.XML file in the Windows directory
 
When you install the Exchange "Agent" all you do is enter a serial on the media server that unlocks that capability.  You do, also, need a Remote Agent installed on the Exchange server if it is not also the media server.
