Hi There,

I have one backup exec server v12, 1 x SAN, and 1 x RAID server.

Is it possible to connect the SAN and the RAID server to the backup exec server via fibre and to back it up via Backup exec 12?

Thanks

If you want everything to get backed up over the SAN, the RAID and the Tape drive need to be connected via fibre to the Backup Server.
If the RAID is only attached to a different server, then it will use the regular network for the backup.

Yes.  Once connected to the Backup Exec server they should show up as local devices and Backup Exec will treat them that way for backups.

So just to confirm:

The RAID is direclty connected to its own server.
Do I need to connect the fibre to the RAID or the server the RAID is connected to?

As for the SAN - I should connect it directy to the backup exec server?

Thanks,
