Is there any issue or precaution to take in doing GRT based restore from IBM LTO3 tape storage especially with Exchange, SQL , sharepoint server and AD.
Thanks in Advance

Hi there,
branched this into its own discussion...BE 2010 R3 is quite good at restoring GRT, so no, there shouldn't be.
As those are all database-based apps, don't use AOFO as this will cause issues with it!
Below are links to the Symantec Best Practices for the applications you mention above:

Thanks!

One thing I would like to mention is about the STAGING that takes place during the GRT restore of Exchange from tapes. What Backup Exec does is it stages the complete Exchange database to a temporary location on the Media server (by default its C:\TEMP) and then restores the required Exchange part to the Exchange server.
So you need to ensure that your C: drive has enough space so that complete database is staged. If C: drive does not have space then you can change the staging location by going to Settings>>Advanced option in the Restore job properties. Here you can specify any location on the local Media server for staging.
Thanks,
