Job fails with error code E000846B - I cannot update the agent on Exchange Server

I have Backup Exec for Windows Servers 12.5 SP2 installed, fully updated with Live.
I have a backup job to backup our Exchange Server installed on a 64bit Windows 2008 Server.

My job is failing with the error code of E000846B.  Everytime I attempt to push the agent to this server it tells me it is at version 12.5.2213 and it needs 9 updates to be applied.  I run though that process and it says it completes, 100%.  But, everytime I go back to push the agent it gives me the message that its at version 12.5.2213 and 9 updates need to be applied.

I'm not sure if this is the reason for the error or not, but, I need to get the agent updated to rule it out.

Someone, Please, advise.

The updates needing applying issue is a known issue

You can check if updates are installed by looking at the version numbers of key files on your remote server compared with the details in the release notes of the various hotfixes.

My guess is that patch levels are not the cause of your error
