Linux Pre/Post Commands

Is there a possibility to use pre/post commands on linux client and BE 11d ? I know that it's not supported on 10d but I can't find any information about 11d.

It is supported in all versions of NetBackup

sometimes customers don't have enought money to buy NetBackup ... :)

Can you execute these commands from a Windows command prompt using RSH or something similar?

If so, put them in a CMD file and run that  as your PRE/POST command

I know that's possible but my customer wants to have "complete" solution so I will probably offer NetBackup..

perhaps you could script it on the Linux client and use cron/atjobs or some sort of scheduler.

1.on the client use cron to start the preprocessing.

2.Let the backup run

3.have another script that periodically checks to see when the backup is no longer active

4. then run the post processing script
