Logon account "System Logon Account" failed to access

I have recently installed Backup Exec 10d and I have been creating selection lists of remote servers with the agents installed. All of the servers are ok apart from our Exchange server.

I am unable to create a selection list for it and receive the following message:

Logon account "System Logon Account" failed to access "servername\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes". Access is denied.

This also occurs when trying to select the Microsoft Exchange Public Folders. The system logon account I am using is the domain admin account and has full exchange admin rights.

I have also created another admin account, delegated control to this in Exchange System Manager, added this account to the local Administrators group and still get the same error message.

The media server is Win 2003 and the Exchange server is Win 2000 with Exch 2003.

Having looked at the different suggestions provided by Veritas I am at a loss as to why this is happening. I would be grateful if anyone had any suggestions or could help me in anyway.

Regards

Mik

Hi,

Please verify the rights for backup exec service account using following technote:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/249456

Also ensure that the mailbox for BESA is not hidden in GAL. Refer: http://support.veritas.com/docs/243328

Enable the key "restrict anonymous support" on both the servers:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/238618

NOTE : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked "assumed answered" and would be moved to "answered questions" pool.
