We recently experienced a catastrophic failure of our server which ran the CASO, and had to rebuild from scratch. When this happened, all jobs on our managed media servers failed and in many cases, the bexwec server service wouldn't start, stating that it could not contact the database.
I ran the beutility to see if I could prevent each server pointing to the CAS, but you are unable to change this unless you can first contact the original CAS. Is there any way we can prevent this happening again if we were to lose the CAS? I assume I am missing something blindingly obvious, as I can't believe that this is a single point of failure for all media servers.
We are running 11d on Server 2003, SP1 by the way.
