Lotus Notes backup problem with agent

Clive_Allen
Not applicable
We have installed the agent on the Lotus Domino Server (6.5.1) which is running on a Windows 2000 server. When we try and backup the databases we get errors saying that files were skipped as they are in use. We also get the following:

This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a Notes database, all users must use a Domino Server instead of a File Server.

Why does this not take a backup of the nsf files which are open? Isn't this the whole point of buying the agent?

check the version of your BE installation.
If you are running BE 10 build 5484, you need Hotfix 17

better - update to version BE 10 build 5520

The problem should be fixed in build 5520 (available for download at support.veritas.com)

If you are already running build 5520 - sorry -

Hello Clive,

Please answer the following queries about your environment:
1. Is the Lotus database partitioned?
2. Are the skipped .nsf files Lotus database files? If not you may exclude these from the backup selections so that the backup job succeeds.
3. Are the machines in any type of cluster?
4. Is the lotus server remote or is the db installed locally on the backup exec media server.
5. Put the remote agent service in debug mode and check the error you are getting during the backup of the particular files that are ignored.
6. Since when are you getting this error, have you ever had a successful b lotus db backup?

As mentioned in the previous post please upgrade to 5520if you have not yet.
