Low restore data rate

With an LTO2 1/2 height external tape drive and backing up already compressed data I get a data rate over 1400MB/min. Restoring data to an alternative location (Fujitsu SCSI Ultra 160 drive) I only get ~140MB/min. Why?

It takes longer to restore data do to the disk, then it does to run a backup, especially when restoring compressed data.
You could try the following things to check the throughputs:
1. Run backups/restores in NT Backup to see if the ratio matches what it does in Backup Exec.
2. Update to latest Veritas Drivers and run backups/restores to test.
