MAC 10.6.4 agent install frustration

Not very good on our MAC, but have not had a problem in the past. We just got in a new MacPro with 10.6.4 and i have upgraded our Media server to 2010 R2.

I follow the install doc for the MAC http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/342831.htm , but have not had any luck. Even the guy that works on the MAC cannot get it installed.

When we get to the terminal and sun sudo ./installrams it ask for the password and we enter it, but it comes back saying "try again" , does this 3 times then just says, "not supported".

We have tried all the admin user and password and even logged in as root with same results.

Does anyone have a clue why this would happen. It sounds like the password is wrong, but we even changed them to be sure.

Thanks

I think you need to set your machine to 32-bit mode for your installation.  See

Note if you are running in to the 64bit/32 bit kernel mentioned by pkh - we are aware of this issue and have it documented - however due to the migration of our knowledge base the document is not yet public - however the information we have for the workaround more or less matches what is provided in the link supplied by pkh

Thanks pkh it solved the issue.

I also found a link on Apple support to get it into 32bit mode on a temporary basis.
