MSSQL$BKUPEXEC fails to start

I'm using BackupExec 9.1.

BackupExec won't start casue MSSQL$BKUPEXEC won't start. MSSQL fails to start due to

Error: 9003, Severity=20, State:1.
Cannot recover the master database. Exiting.

Since I can't get to my backups I can't restore MSSQL.

how to proceed ?

Hi Ian,

You could try this:

- Reapply MDAC 2.8

- Run a repair of Backup Exec installation

- Since it does concern the Master database..do you have SQL Server installed on the media server? If so, make sure you solve the SQL issue as the Master database MDF and/or LDF files might be corrupted
