Media Sets

Hi there,

We're running Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers, and one thing that has always bugged me is the fact that even though I've created media sets for each week day, and then created a backup job to use the correct day's media set (Monday's backup job to use Monday's media set etc), the tapes never stay inside their media set. Last night's backup, which was Tuesday, has pulled the tapes from Wednesday's media set and is using them for the backup!

Is there any way I can 'lock' the tapes into their media sets?

Thanks very much/...

I asume that you have a Library?

Create partitions in the library, edit/create new jobs for each night, each pointing to a partition. That job will only write to the assigned partiton. If the tape is full or not overwriteable, the job will fail, but it will not use any other slots
