Migrating Dedupe Data

Hey Guys,

We just purchased a Quantum DXi4701 and I need to migrate our old data from the Symantec Backup Exec Deduplication Folder over to it. Is this possible? I'd rather not have to leave the old folder alive for a year waiting on the data to expire.

That document is not exactly what I'm trying to do. I suppose I could connect it through iSCSI and just move the dedupe folder but I'd rather setup with the OST plugin so that the Quantum is performing the dedupe and not Backup Exec. I was hoping to be able to migrate the backups from the deduplication folder into OST LUN on the Quantum.

If I am not mistaken, you cannot have both the dedup folder and the OST device on the same media server because you can only have 1 dedup device per media server.  This means that you cannot even duplicate your existing dedup'ed backup sets from your dedup folder to the OST device.  You would have to duplicate them to a disk storage then duplicate them to the OST device.
