Multiple Sites + vCenter = VM Backup over the WAN?

Hello All,

I have multiple sites that connect to one vCenter server. I want to use the vCenter server in the selection list because VMs move within that site (HA or DRS) - but does that mean I will be backing up over the WAN just to backup to the tape library in the same room?

Yes you will be moving over the WAN.

BE communicates with vCenter and finds out that the guest is on host 3 which happens to be 500miles away over a slow link..  The snapshot would come over the WAN in that case to BE2010.  Def not something that would be supported by Symantec.
