We are using Backup Exec 12 and PV124T's using LTO3. A number of our remote sites have recently started using two tapes for their full backups, but when BE e-mails out the job reports it only lists the first slot used in the report.
As the sites are remote we have admin staff who recieve these reports and change the tapes - they don't have access to BE - as the reports only list one slot they only change one tape. So, IT have to login to the server and e-mail the admin staff with the slots to export - and we could do without this additional work load.
Is there any way to get BE to report both the slots that contain the job's media? It reports both tapes used but this is no good as the admin can't see the bar codes on the tapes when they are in the device and so don't know which slot to export.
Does this make sense?
